According to Wikipedia, “Lesotho (pronounced lɪˈsu tu), officially the Kingdom of Lesotho, is a landlocked country and enclave entirely surrounded by the Republic of South Africa. The name Lesotho roughly translates into the land of the people who speak Sotho“.

Lesotho has a population of only 1.8 million people, but they face tremendous challenges. Much of the population, approximately 30%, has HIV/AIDS (one of the highest per-capita rates of AIDS in the world). Most of the population, 56%, live on under $2 a day. This poverty and AIDS pandemic has led to the phenomenon of abandoned babies.
