Beautiful::Africa

It is with excitement that we at Beautiful::Africa have received word from Beautiful Gate adoptive families in Canada. Recently, three such families joined together to share their stories. Thank you seems too little of a word when considering all that you have done and continue to do for your adopted children. May God bless you in your calling to love and care for His children.

“When viewing a map of the world the countries of Canada and Lesotho are on opposite continents and hemispheres. Lifestyles, cultures and worldviews are vastly different. Globally it would not be possible to be much further apart, yet there are several Canadian adoptive families who embrace Lesotho closely as the mother country of their beloved children. This bond is extended to the Beautiful::Africa Family that has connected with Beautiful Gate to raise support and awareness. Three Canadian families, the Leveille’s, Kozak’s, and Davison’s have felt God’s leading to link arms with Beautiful::Africa and share the Beautiful Gate story with Canadian families and friends.

February 3 marked the date of the first invitation to speak to a church group. At the invitation of a relative of the Leveille family we (Tina, Carol and Rhonda) started to organize what this presentation would look like. We were very happy to have the help of Beautiful::Africa to share materials with us. These materials enabled us to produce some poster boards. Things came together perfectly and right on time.

The group that had invited us to come was a ladies bible study group in Abbotsford BC. There were approximately 80 who asked us to share at a special event, a Valentine’s Fellowship and Luncheon. They welcomed us and our children with warm hospitality and great food. There were several hugs and kind words of encouragement for us and our children. The ladies had generously gathered a donation from the group and several women chose to give a donation for Beautiful Gate.

Each of us, Tina, Carol and Rhonda shared of our own personal experiences in Lesotho. Tina, her husband JJ and son Jonah had just returned from Lesotho in late December. She was able to share photos of a day she spent with the staff doing a food shop in the local markets as well as a personal video address from Ray. Carol was able to share many photos of Lesotho put together in a video presentation from her trip with husband AJ to bring home Nathan in July 2010. There was much laughter as she shared her journey. Rhonda was able to share some photos of her trip to Lesotho to join with son Daniel along with some information specifically regarding Beautiful Gate. All three of us considered it a joy to reminisce about our time in Lesotho. Many of the ladies had tears in their eyes as they heard of the love and care of Beautiful Gate and the difficulties many people in Lesotho face on a daily basis.

This was our first such presentation. We are praying that God will open many more doors to share with groups here in the Vancouver Area. We appreciate your prayers and look forward to sharing more stories with you!!”
