Born early.

by Alisa V.POSTED Jun 02 2009

A baby boy is born early.  The father realizes that something is not right.  He finds someone to take his family from their mountain village to the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in the capital city.  Unfortunately, the mother passes away during the trip down to the capital, but thankfully, the baby survives and is admitted to the maternity wing.

Born six weeks early, it took awhile before the baby could suck on a bottle’s teat.  However, once he did, he was released from the hospital and brought to Beautiful Gate, because it is extremely difficult for fathers to care for newborns in the village where there is no baby formula or means to sterilize the bottles.

Now, Beautiful Gate is looking after the baby, and giving him a good foundation, until he is able to eat an adult meal and can be reunited with his family.  We gave him the name Leseli, which means light.  Our prayer is that he will become a shinning light to his family.

It is an honor to help and develop the future generation of this wonderful nation, Lesotho.

Wow, your work is profound and you must feel very blessed to care for God’s little children in this way. My husband and I are praying for Beautiful Gate orphans and workers.
